　　For decades, the news media has been a regular part of our lives and the importance of it is growing owning to the great connectivity that exists across the world. Involuntarily, we are

exposed to the impact of news media, which in general is positive, although sometimes the contents reported are not necessarily reliable.

　　The importance of news media lies with its function as the major channel for people to be aware of reality and to make evaluations. The media was created to focus on issues that are

important to society based on truth and dignity. To fulfill its obligation, the media employs a number of professional journalists and reporters to uncover news stories or conduct deep

investigations so as to keep readers up to date with what is happening and help them understand current events. Furthermore, the widespread of internet facilitates an exploding media

system and makes them more far-reaching. As those traditional journalisms are supplemented by blogs and social media, we now have access to a variety of sources of instant news，which allows us to view things from different perspectives. And subsequently, the more informed we are, the better conclusions or decisions we reach.

　　Despite the fact that what is reported by news medias is not always to the truth, they still play positive role in general. News medias serve as facilities for democracy. They are there to

monitor and scrutinize the powerful, to shed light on what is kept in the dark, to challenge postulates and to empower the informed. Also, the news medias provide platforms for the

voice of the unspoken to be heard, as with the prevalence of media of various forms, people are given the opportunities to share opinions, initiate discussions and ask critical questions in

an open arena.

　　In conclusion, although it is true that news agencies sometimes fail to adopt a neutral manner, they so far provide comparatively the most creditable and concrete information to base

our ideas on and facilitate the democratic progress.
